Dr. Oz Says the Paleo Diet Can help you Lose 75 Pounds in Just 6 Months
In 2013, the Paleo diet became the most popular diet in the western world and now Doctor Oz is touting it’s success saying that you can lose up to 75 pounds in just 6 months.
On the February 17th episode of the popular TV show, The Dr. Oz Show, Dr. Mehmet Oz said that the Paleo diet is one of his favorite diets to lose weight because it is easy to follow, can reverse heart disease and diabetes and can help prevent Alzheimer’s.
The Paleo diet works on the principal of eating like the Palaeolithic people, by consuming animal proteins that are grass fed, wild and organic. Healthy fats such as avocado, coconut oil and organic butter, non starchy vegetables like kale, greens, cauliflower, onions and eating low sugar fruits like berries and apples. Another component of the diet is to soak your nuts before eating them, this helps activate the enzymes and makes them easier to digest.
The Paleo diet also omits sugar, gluten, dairy, legumes and alcohol.
“This program works faster than ever,” said Dr. Oz. And the biggest benefit is that by stopping the intake of processed foods, and increasing proteins, the diet can help regulate hormones which can cause weight gain especially in women.
There are many versions of the Paleo Diet available today as people have tweaked the diet to their needs. Some versions include legumes, beans and lentils and rice.
If you are thinking of trying the Paleo diet do some research first and tailor the diet to suit your needs. Plan to stick to the diet for at least 6 months so you can really notice the change.
